Careers

Hard problems, in Kathmandu, for the rest of the world.

We hire senior and we hire slowly. If you want to work on systems that are actually in production rather than perpetually in pilot, this is a reasonable place to do it.

How hiring works here

A conversation, a paid take-home you own the copyright to, and a session pairing on it with two engineers. No whiteboard algorithms, no culture-fit round, no more than three weeks end to end. We tell you no clearly rather than going quiet.

The terms

Pay banded and published internally
Bands are visible to everyone in the company, and reviewed against the Kathmandu senior market twice a year.
Four hours of overlap, not twelve
Client overlap is 13:00–17:00 Kathmandu time. Outside that window your calendar is yours.
On-call is compensated and rare
We run what we build, so on-call is real. It is paid, it rotates, and if it stops being rare we treat that as a defect in the system rather than a fact of life.
A budget with no approval step
Conferences, courses, hardware, books. There is an annual number and you spend it without asking anyone.
