Resumable by default

A tool call that fails on step nine of twelve should not replay steps one through eight against your billing system. Sutra checkpoints between steps, so a retry resumes rather than restarts, and every step is typed on both sides of the boundary.

Retrieval you can argue with

Hybrid dense and lexical retrieval, with the full candidate set, the scores and the rerank decision exposed per query. When an answer is wrong you can see whether the retrieval missed it or the model ignored it, which are very different bugs with very different fixes.

Evaluations in CI, not in a notebook

Evaluation suites run on every pull request against a pinned dataset, and regressions fail the build the same way a broken test does. This is the single practice that most separates the projects that shipped from the ones that did not.

Your VPC, your keys, your bill

Sutra holds no data of yours and proxies nothing through us. You bring your own model credentials and your own vector store. We would rather sell you software than sit in the middle of your inference bill.

The questions buyers actually ask

What does beta mean here?: The API surface may still break between minor versions, and we will give you a migration note when it does. Uptime and support are not beta.
Which model providers work?: Anything with an OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible endpoint, plus self-hosted inference servers. Model routing is configuration, not a code change.
What happens if we stop paying?: Self-hosted deployments keep running. Your data was never in our infrastructure, and the orchestration definitions are plain files in your repository.
